This is a super bowl rematch from last year where Robert pulled out from behind and surprised everyone by taking down one of the highest scoring teams in the league. Jim Burkey is out for revenge and wants to win this matchup bad.

DeAngelo is not going to produce the same numbers from last year.

Bandits
Tony Romo is without T.O. this year, but I think Roy Williams and Jason Witten are enough to still keep him relevant every week in fantasy. He should get great points against the Bucs this week.
DeAngelo Williams was a monster last year, I don’t think he will repeat and he faces a tough Philly defense this week, he will not get points that everyone is expecting him to get.
Derrick Ward left a running back committee and ended up right back into one. He won’t get a lot of carries and will have problems against the tough Dallas run defense.
Reggie Wayne is the stud in Indy this year, and should light it up against Jacksonville.
Wes Welker might be a little nicked up this week, but I believe if he plays he will score the most points for the Bandits at the WR slot this week.
Donald Driver goes up against one of the weakest pass defense teams, and should produce solid fantasy points with Aaron Rodgers at the helm.
Bo Scaife played well in Thursday night’s game, hopefully he isn’t out for too long with his injury.
Giants defense should not have a problem at all containing the inconsistent Redskins offense, expect a lot of points here.

Adrian Peterson will not have any problems against the Browns defense this week.

Matt Schaub will dominate the Jets defense this week, especially since everyone is talking about Steve Slaton this year.
Adrian Peterson against the Browns…need I say more?
Brandon Jacobs and Albert Haynesworth have already exchanged words this week about their game, but something tells me Jacobs might have problems this week.
Anquan Boldin is lining up against the 49ers defense, I doubt that he will disappoint.
Vincent Jackson is going against a pour Oakland team, Phillip Rivers should find him a lot.
Ted Ginn Jr. needs to really step up his game and become the number 1 option in Miami, maybe this year is his year?
John Carlson should catch A LOT of balls for Seattle this year, starting out against St. Louis is the best place to prove himself.
Redskins Defense should be able to pressure Eli Manning this week, forcing him to make bad decisions.

Winner: RedSkins 103-85
Adrian Peterson is going to rack up points, and it almost might be sweeter for Jim Burkey to pull this win out because of Peterson’s play since Robert won most of his games last season with Peterson.

Coming into this season Mike Burkey’s Embers and John McHugh’s Zero Below have similar records overall in the NFO. They came into the draft with similar strategies and ended up 11^th and 12^th pick, then ended up in the same division. Can we say this might be a start of a rivalry?

Can Palmer stay healthy and become a top 10 QB again?

Carson Palmer has been hurt just about 99% of the time of the past three season in the NFL. However, people forget how great he was up until 2007. He has a chance to prove that against the weak Denver secondary.
Ronnie Brown is hot in the wildcat, and should get decent points this week against the Falcons.
Ray Rice starting over Mike’s Darren McFadden is a good idea this week. Chiefs run defense stinks, and Rice is the starter in the Baltimore backfield.
Calvin Johnson is a beast on a bad team, look for him to score at least once against the Saints secondary.
Randy Moss is another beast, but he is on a great team. Of course he will grab some points this week.
Hines Ward should get some looks after the Titans stop the run.
Chris Cooley is the only consistent pass receiver on the ‘Skins offense, he should catch a handful against the rival Giants.
Chargers defense was weaker than expected last season, but they should be back up to strength this year with Shawne Merriman back. Should rack up points this week against the lowly Raiders offense.

Will Addai stay healthy all season and keep Donald Brown from coming in?

Zero Below
Aaron Rodgers has the chance to become a fantasy star, and he faces the horrible Bears secondary that finished 30^th in the league last year against the pass.
Joseph Addai is saying Donald who? He is going to push himself to stay the starter in Indy, and should have a great game against Jacksonville as long as he stays healthy.
Pierre Thomas is McHugh’s second RB currently, he should be replaced by Julius Jones this week since Thomas is hurt.
Julius Jones hasn’t had a chance to shine at all, been in bad situations. This year may be his year and he should put up RB2 points in week 1 against the Rams.
Greg Jennings will grab most of Rodgers’ balls thrown, he will be a monster this week.
Andre Johnson is the king of reception yards, as long as he stays healthy he might become the best WR in the league.  He might struggle a bit against Bart Scott and the Jets.
Jerricho Cotchery currently is Mark Sanchez’s only weapon, and is going against the Houston defense. This could be McHugh’s sleeper pick of the week?
Kevin Boss might struggle a bit against the revamped Redskins defense, but also could be the only option for Eli Manning.
Packers should be able to hold the Bears from doing too much damage, since Cutler is new to the system and hasn’t had a chance to get a rhythm with the receivers yet.

Winner: Embers 115-103
In the battle of the receivers, the Embers will pull out the win here because of the running game. It will be pretty even, and both teams receivers should dominate in their games. The only problem would be if Palmer does not deliver in his opener.

 The winner of two years ago, Jonathan Taylor, is trying to take his team to the big time again this year. He is coming into Cubbie nation though, and he better look out for Matt Mullins’ team who scored tons of points last year, this should be a close game.

Will Marshall become a threat even though he has complained and missed so much?

Mavericks
Drew Brees is going to completely man handle the pour Detroit defense.
Brian Westbrook is coming into the season under the radar, but I feel that he could still have enough gas in him to produce top 10 points, starting this week against CAR.
Steve Slaton came into 2008 as a underrated rookie, but that quickly changed, he should rack up some points against the Jets.
Antonio Bryant is going up against the Dallas defense, in which he will struggle to get points.
Brandon Marshall is back into the lineup for Denver, and if he can get into rhythm with QB Orton then the pour Cincinnati defense could be in trouble.
Lance Moore should hook up with Brees in Detroit several times getting the most points for Taylor’s team this week at WR, look for this hook up on the Mavericks all season.
Antonio Gates is still a beast at TE, and he will tear up the Oakland defense this week.
Jets Defense could be in trouble when Slaton, Andre Johnson and Matt Schaub play them this week, this is a risky start.

Expect this man to be lighting up the score board all year.

Cubbies
Jay Cutler is in a new uniform this year, but is lacking the talent he had with the Broncos. Devin Hester could break some plays, however Green Bay’s defense looked good this pre-season. Cutler might need some time to light up the score board.
Frank Gore is running against the Cardinals, I think that he will power his way to monster points this week.
Reggie Bush is overvalued in my opinion, but is a good start here against the weak Lions defense. Also, Pierre Thomas is hurt, which will give Bush more opportunities this week. He might be a surprise, however I don’t expect him to be this good every week.
Roddy White has been a breakout player since he came into the league, and I doubt that the Dolphins will be able to slow him down, great start this week.
Issac Bruce is old, but still consistant. He should get decent stats this week.
Bernard Berrian is Favre’s top WR on the Vikes, but I think that they still need a little more time to build chemistry. He should get decent points this week though against the pour Browns D.
Jason Witten is now Romo’s main target in Dallas, he will get monster points just about every week.
Vikings Defense will stop the building Browns offense. Brady Quinn is going to be face down in the dirt a lot, expect a lot of sacks.

Winner: Mavericks 89-82
Mavericks squeak by the Cubbies only because of the matchups this week. Brees will carry Coach Taylor to the victory while Roddy White brings the most points in for the Cubbies.

Rookie coach Jeremey Tate is taking on the commissioner of the NFO in this game, and it looks like it might end up being a solid game. Peyton Manning carries the Law Givers on against Larry Fitzgerald and the Preds. 

Can Manning get enough points to carry Law Givers?

Law Givers:
Peyton Manning is still alive and will tear up the Jacksonville defense, even without Marvin Harrison.
Marion Barber isn’t a stud RB in my opinion, but I think he will get enough points here to get the start.
Fred Jackson is the only RB in Buffalo currently, good news…bad news: Offensive Line sucks right now, could be a surprise though against NE.
T.O. is still a great option on WR in my opinion, defenses will pressure his QB all season though which could bring out the whinny side of the diva. NE might not be a great start for the Buffalo offense this year.
Anthony Gonzalez is a sleeper this year, he is taking Harrison’s spot in the offense and J.T. could have a great hookup here at QB and WR, especially this first week in JAC.
DeSean Jackson was a threat as a rookie, wonder what he can do in his second year? Should get a lot of looks from McNabb this week.
Owen Daniels is a solid TE, hopefully he can get some reps with Schaub in the offense, could get a handful of catches against the new Jets defense.
Eagles Defense might have problems keeping both DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart in check, not to mention Steve Smith. This might be a risky start this week.

Fitzy should carry his dominating performance from the playoffs over to this year.

Predators:
Matt Hasselbeck should completely dominate the Rams’ defense. End of story.
Kevin Smith might be a sleeper this season since he is on the Lions. NO will be a good defense for him to start against, expect him to surprise this week.
Chris Johnson might be a risky start this week, the Steelers defense is just incredibly difficult to get points against.
Larry Fitzgerald against the 49ers defense= lots of points.
Dwayne Bowe might have a rough season, and it will be a rough start against the Ravens.
Eddie Royal might be #1 target in Denver since Marshall is acting up, he is explosive and should get points against the horrible Bengals defense.
Kellen Winslow might have some problems with this first game, but I believe he is better in TB than he was in CLE.
Patriots defense should have some fun against the under construction offense of Buffalo.

Winner: Predators: 86-72
Predators will get most of their points from Hasselbeck and Fitzgerald playing weak defenses. Law Givers might need better match-ups for their players to begin to score great points.

Troy injures leg.

During the season opening game against their rival Tennessee Titans, Troy Polamalu might be out for as much as 6 weeks when he sprained his MCL.

It happened on a blocked field goal…which is rare against kicker Rob Bironas, and when Troy jumped to over after the ball a big 260+ pound tight end in Alge Crumpler fell on the bottom half of his leg, twisting his leg in a strange position.

Troy was obviously frustrated that he got injured in the opening game, kind of reminds me of Tom Brady from last year…however Troy will be back this season.

Honestly, Troy is a huge part of their defense, but I don’t think this will hamper the number 1 ranked defense of last year too much.

Laveranues Coles decided to take over the spot of TJ Houshmandzadeh in Cincy.

He signed a contract for $28 million 4 years.

I think they might have over paid him a little bit, but he is a playmaker and will compliment the system they use in Cincy.

Question is, is he going to fit with Chad Johnson?

I'm sorry...

Ray might be taking back what he said about the Ravens when they didn’t resign him at the beginning of Free Agency.

Because he will probably end up finishing out his career with the Baltimore birdies.

According to NFL.com its only a matter of time before he signs the contract.

That’s right, its official Kurt is staying in Arizona as expected.

He signed a $23 million 2 year contact with $19 million for sure.

He finally got a deal he deserved. Now the only problem is trying to get Boldin to stay because it seems as though Edgerrin James is wanting out now.
